Divided with large egos

If I think of it, while reading the modern history of India, it appears that the country was an easy target to be conquered during the middle of 18th and the 19th century. The so called ‘Sone ki Chiriya’, was a bird whose wings were rather stuck together.

The main reasons of the British rule in the country was the internal fighting. (And I know, at this point you would be like Duh! no mysteries there Sherlock!). The Rajas, Maharajas, the Mughals especially had egos the size of Jupiter and Saturn but their pockets were getting smaller and smaller (mind you, with no coins in them) and this is what he British actually knew. That right there was our tragedy.

Could we have done better? Sure yes! We could have shown some real maturity and be united for once for all the history of India. We could have deflated our egos, understood all type of trade techniques, our Emperors could have maybe done a few ‘Field Visits’ to understand the plight of the people. Voila! we would still be a free country.

That being said, with the change in the course of history could we have progressed in who we are? that gives us another question on, if we have learnt anything from the past in general? have we tried to resolve our differences communally and stand up as a community everyday and not just in the days of crisis. What does it take for us to be more of a Nation and less of a Pockets full of diversity?

Well thats all the pondering for today! until next time!
